Corella begins San Miguel festivities with traditional rocket launch

The San Miguel festivities have officially commenced in Corella, marked by the traditional rocket launch performed by Ignacio Sobejano, the Councilor for Sports, Citizen Security, and Traffic. The launch took place from the Town Hall balcony, signaling the start of eight days of celebrations scheduled to run until September 30.

The opening day features a diverse program, including musical performances by the local Band, the Giants and Big-Heads troupe, and various street bands. Scheduled events include children's entertainment, a solemn salve in honor of the Virgin of Mercy at the San Miguel parish, a simulated children's bull run, and fireworks.

Councilor Sobejano expressed his excitement for the community celebrations, noting that while his role involves overseeing security and municipal police during the event, he prioritizes the conviviality and street life that define the festival.
