Corella hosts Baroque festivals and theatrical performances
The city of Corella is celebrating its Baroque Days with historical reenactments and theatrical performances. A major highlight included a procession recreating the arrival of King Philip V of Bourbon, his wife Maria Luisa of Savoy, and their son Luis. The event commemorates the historical period when the royal court relocated to Corella due to the Queen's health, during which the King declared the city the capital of the Kingdom.
Additionally, the Cultural Association of Corella successfully premiered its Baroque Theatrical Skits at the Patio del Marqués. The production, which blended Baroque characters with 1960s aesthetics, sold out its initial 170-seat capacity, prompting organizers and the local City Council to schedule a second performance on October 31.
In Garrovillas de Alconétar, the IV Autumn Theater Festival is set to take place at the historic Corral de Comedias from October 29 to November 1. The program features five plays, including “Ñoña Inés” and “Un lío de dioses,” offering diverse comedic and classical interpretations.
