Corentin Tolisso Embraces France World Cup 2026 Omission as Boost for Olympique Lyonnais

Midfielder Corentin Tolisso was left out of Didier Deschamps' France squad for the 2026 World Cup, with the coach opting for N'Golo Kanté, Warren Zaïre‑Emery, Manu Koné, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Adrien Rabiot instead. Tolisso, who recorded 15 goals and six assists for Olympique Lyonnais in the 2025‑26 season, said he quickly digested the decision, describing the six‑week break as "a mal pour un bien" that allowed him to rest with family and friends.

He stressed that his priority now is the club, noting upcoming European fixtures such as the playoff against Sparta Prague. Tolisso believes the hiatus will help him start the season fit and ready to lead Lyon in their continental campaign.
