CoreWeave expands AI cloud capabilities and infrastructure
CoreWeave, a leading neocloud provider, is expanding its presence in the artificial intelligence sector through new product announcements and significant infrastructure investments. At its first global user conference in San Francisco, the company introduced Forge, a platform designed to optimize the “AI loop” by connecting hardware layers directly to model delivery. This “metal-to-model” approach aims to provide continuous optimization across the entire stack, serving enterprise customers such as Caterpillar and Capital One.
Financially, the company is experiencing rapid growth, with Q2 revenue reaching nearly $2.6 billion, a 112% increase year-over-year. Its backlog has grown to over $104 billion as of the end of Q2 2026, supplemented by an additional $25 billion deal in early Q3. However, this expansion is fueled by heavy debt; CoreWeave has accumulated over $35 billion in total debt to fund massive capital expenditures, including $14 billion in the first half of 2026. While its partnership with Nvidia provides a competitive advantage, the company's high interest expenses and debt load present risks if the AI boom slows or interest rates remain high.
