CoreWeave reports $2.58B Q2 revenue amid surging AI demand

CoreWeave, an AI cloud infrastructure provider, reported strong second-quarter 2026 financial results characterized by a 112% year-over-year revenue increase to $2.58 billion. The company's revenue exceeded analyst expectations, driving a significant surge in its stock price, which rose between 8% and 15% in after-hours trading.

Despite the revenue growth, CoreWeave reported a widening net loss of $626 million, compared to $290 million in the previous year. This loss was driven largely by a $640 million net interest expense as the company aggressively finances its data center expansion. The company's total debt reached $35 billion as of June 30, 2026.

Demand for AI computing power remains a primary driver, with a revenue backlog reaching $104 billion. Additionally, the company secured over $25 billion in new customer commitments early in the third quarter. CEO Michael Intrator noted that near-term capacity is effectively sold out, allowing the company to achieve greater operating leverage as it scales.
