Corey Day signs long-term extension with Hendrick Motorsports
Hendrick Motorsports has signed racing prospect Corey Day to a long-term contract extension. As part of the agreement, the 20-year-old driver from Clovis, California, will return for a second consecutive full-time season in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2027, driving the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro.
In addition to his full-time series campaign, Day is scheduled to make his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series on a limited basis during the 2027 season. Specific details regarding his Cup Series schedule and vehicle will be announced at a later date.
Day is currently competing in his first full-time season in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, where he is ranked fifth in the standings and is a contender in the Chase. His background includes multiple championships in sprint car racing and being the youngest competitor to win a USAC National Midget Series event.
