Corfu Port Authority denies ban on new ticket offices

The Corfu Port Authority (OLKE) has issued a formal response to the Kerkyra Lines shipping consortium regarding the operation of new ticket offices at Corfu Port. OLKE claims that the consortium has used fragmentary excerpts from a January 30 document issued by the Central Port Authority of Corfu to suggest that there is a ban on the new ticket offices.

OLKE clarifies that no such prohibition or suspension exists. On the contrary, the authority states that the Central Port Authority had identified the immediate commencement of the new ticket offices as a priority to address service issues at the Mantouki hub. The organization further noted that while the Port Authority provided instructions regarding traffic regulations and safety measures, these are separate administrative directives and do not constitute a ban on the ticket offices.

The transition to the new facilities is part of a broader plan to reorganize the port and improve passenger services. OLKE has called on all port zone users to comply with the legal decisions and instructions of the management authority.
