Corigliano d'Otranto hosts Salento Jazz preview and Taranta festival

On July 27, 2026, the Castello di Corigliano d'Otranto will host the preview of the 2026 Salento Jazz festival. The event features the trio Antidote – percussionist Bijan Chemirani, pianist Rami Khalife and cellist Redi Hasa – presenting a blend of Mediterranean, Middle‑Eastern and contemporary jazz.

Three days later, on July 30, the itinerant edition of La Notte della Taranta begins in Corigliano d'Otranto, marking the first of twenty scheduled stops across the Salento peninsula. The opening ceremony at the Castello de' Monti honors the late Toni Nisi, a longtime technical director of the festival, and includes performances by the youth Orchestra Sistema Musica Arnesano, directed by Mauro Durante, along with choral and dance groups.

Both events are supported by the Regione Puglia and local authorities, underscoring the town’s role as a cultural hub for contemporary and traditional Mediterranean music.
