Corigliano-Rossano officials agree to reopen Thurio level crossing

The Mayor of Corigliano-Rossano, Flavio Stasi, and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) have reached an agreement to temporarily reopen the old Thurio level crossing to mitigate traffic disruptions. This decision follows local protests regarding the closure of the SP173 provincial road, which was necessary for the demolition and reconstruction of a railway bridge.

The temporary reopening will occur during a scheduled suspension of train traffic and will be preceded by safety measures to ensure secure vehicle transit. This solution aims to prevent residents, agricultural businesses, and livestock farmers from being forced to take long detours, ensuring continued access to essential routes and the SS106 highway.
