Corigliano Rossano opposition disputes €3.2 million summer event spending

In Corigliano Rossano, Guglielmo Caputo, the group leader for Fratelli d’Italia, has challenged the municipal administration led by Mayor Flavio Stasi regarding the management of funds for summer events.

Caputo highlighted a significant discrepancy between the €3.2 million allocated for summer events between 2024 and 2026 and the approximately €740,000 collected in tourist taxes during the same period. To emphasize this point during a city council session, Caputo presented a symbolic check for €3.2 million.

The opposition argues that the revenue collected is less than half of the projected €1.5 million in tourist taxes and represents only about 23 percent of the total expenditure on summer programming. Caputo questioned the effectiveness of these investments and their ability to produce lasting economic benefits for the city and its residents.
