Corigliano-Rossano school inaugurates tactile path for visual disability inclusion

The IIS L. Palma Green Falcone Borsellino in Corigliano-Rossano has inaugurated a new tactile path designed to improve orientation and autonomy for students with visual impairments. Funded by a 350,000 euro investment from the Province of Cosenza, the project aims to make the school the first in Calabria to be fully accessible to students with sensory disabilities.

Developed in collaboration with the Italian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted (UICI), the initiative includes smart tactile paths, tactile maps and plaques, and integrated voice systems. The project seeks to remove both physical and sensory barriers to foster a more inclusive educational environment.
