ExxonMobil awards $250M pipeline contract for Mozambique LNG project

ExxonMobil has awarded a contract to the Greek company Corinth Pipeworks for the supply of approximately 250 kilometres of pipelines for the Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique. The deal, valued between $200 million and $250 million, is part of the preparations for the first phase of the liquefied natural gas megaproject located in the Rovuma Basin, Cabo Delgado.

The contract involves the manufacture of roughly 120,000 tonnes of longitudinally submerged arc-welded steel pipes, with diameters ranging from 20 to 24 inches. These pipes will be used in the project’s offshore pipeline network and will include anti-corrosion and concrete coatings for deepwater operation. Production is expected to take place at Corinth Pipeworks’ facility in Thisvi, Greece, before being shipped to Mozambique.
