Corinthia Group parent IHI seeks €30 million to repay bondholders
International Hotel Investments (IHI), the parent company of the Corinthia hotel brand, is seeking €30 million in new unsecured bonds to repay existing bondholders. The new bonds carry an annual interest rate of 5.45 percent and are set to mature in 2034. The proceeds will be used to partially refinance €60 million in bonds due on December 20, with the remaining debt to be addressed through cash flow and banking facilities.
Financial reports indicate that IHI is managing mounting debts and liquidity pressures. The company ended 2025 with nearly €790 million in total debt and €697 million in net debt. Recent data shows a current ratio of 0.94, indicating that short-term liabilities have exceeded short-term assets. To support refinancing efforts, the group has engaged in asset disposals, including the sale of the former Match Factory site in Marsa for €15 million.
Separately, IHI’s Verdi Hotels management platform has signed an agreement to join Accor’s Handwritten Collection. Starting in November 2026, five hotels located in Malta, Portugal, and Tunisia will join the collection under franchise agreements, with plans to add two more properties in Hungary and the Czech Republic later.
