Corinthians acquitted by STJD of pitch invasion and cup throwing charges

The Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) has acquitted Corinthians of charges regarding incidents during a Campeonato Brasileiro match against Cruzeiro. The club was facing accusations involving the throwing of cups and a pitch invasion at the Neo Química Arena.

The 5th Disciplinary Commission reached a two-to-two tie during the judgment, resulting in the acquittal of the club. The defense presented evidence that the involved fans were handed over to the Military Police within the stadium, helping to mitigate the club's responsibility.

While acquitted of the major incidents, Corinthians was issued a R$ 3,000 fine for a three-minute delay in returning to the pitch following the halftime interval.
