Brazilian clubs advance to Libertadores quarter-finals
Four Brazilian clubs—Corinthians, Flamengo, Palmeiras, and Fluminense—have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2026 CONMEBOL Libertadores, creating the possibility of an all-Brazilian semi-final for the first time in history.
Corinthians secured their spot with a 1-0 victory over Rosario Central at the Neo Química Arena, despite playing much of the match with ten men after Raniele was sent off. The decisive goal was scored by Breno Bidon following an assist from Memphis Depay. Corinthians will face Estudiantes in the next round.
Fluminense advanced after defeating Independiente Rivadavia in a penalty shootout, setting up a match against Platense. Palmeiras confirmed their progression by defeating Cerro Porteño and will face LDU in the quarter-finals. Flamengo remains the only Brazilian team yet to confirm its opponent, awaiting the result of the match between Independiente del Valle and Tolima.
