Corinthians clears overdue salaries, easing club's financial strain

Corinthians' board confirmed that the professional squad’s wages, delayed for several weeks, have been fully paid. The cash flow was secured through renewed sponsorship agreements and an advance on broadcasting rights revenues. The payment allows the coaching staff to focus on the season’s fixtures and re‑opens negotiations for new player signings, which had been stalled pending salary regularisation. Despite the relief, the club still faces outstanding debts to suppliers and other labour liabilities and is exploring medium‑term measures such as a possible football‑society conversion (SAF), asset sales and further sponsor renegotiations to stabilise its finances.

The salary clearance is viewed as a crucial step toward restoring credibility with players, agents and the broader market, though the broader fiscal challenges for the club remain significant.
