Corinthians prepares for friendly against Cascavel amid transfer ban

Brazilian club Corinthians completed a week of interseason training and scheduled a one‑day rest before resuming work on Monday. Coach Fernando Diniz is using the break to fine‑tune tactics ahead of a friendly against Cascavel on July 12 at Estádio Arnaldo Busato in Paraná. The team’s last official match was a 3‑1 victory over Grêmio on May 30, after which the squad entered a hiatus. Following the friendly, Corinthians will return to the Campeonato Brasileiro on July 23 to face Remo.

The club is also monitoring Panama midfielder Cristian Martínez, who attracted interest after playing in the World Cup. Martínez’s transfer fee is estimated at around R$ 8 million. However, Corinthians remains unable to register new players because FIFA imposed a transfer ban linked to an unpaid debt from a previous deal with Philadelphia Union.
