Corinthians faces financial crisis and relegation risk

Corinthians is navigating a severe dual crisis involving financial instability and poor sporting performance. The São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office has issued a 15-day ultimatum for the club to regularize approximately R$ 10 million in overdue payments under the Centralized Execution Regime (RCE). Failure to resolve these pendencies could lead to the freezing of the club's bank accounts.

On the pitch, the club is struggling in the Brasileirão, currently sitting in 16th place with 33 points, just one point above the relegation zone. The team has gone nine matches without a victory in the national championship and ten matches without a win across all competitions.

In response to the sporting slump, Clarence Seedorf has taken over as head coach following the dismissal of Fernando Diniz. The club is also managing significant player absences, including Memphis Depay, who is sidelined with a muscle edema in his right thigh. The team faces an urgent match against Vasco at São Januário to attempt to distance itself from the relegation zone.
