Corinthians faces third transfer ban amid financial crisis and seeks to offload striker Pedro Raul

Corinthians has been hit with a third six‑month transfer ban after failing to pay an approximately R$8 million installment of a collective agreement with the CBF's dispute resolution chamber. The ban follows two earlier sanctions imposed by FIFA for unpaid debts to the Philadelphia Union and a disciplinary fine related to delayed payments for several player transfers.

The club, burdened by high debt and a large payroll, is also looking to move striker Pedro Raul, who joined for around R$25 million in February 2024 but has struggled to score and is deemed financially unsustainable. Corinthians is seeking a loan or transfer where the receiving team would assume the player's full salary, hoping to ease the wage bill before the transfer window closes.
