Corinthians futsal player Maicon undergoes field football trials

Corinthians futsal player Maicon is undergoing tests to transition to field football. The 22-year-old winger, a standout performer for the club’s futsal team, has been training with the Under-20 squad at the request of coach Fernando Diniz.

Due to transfer restrictions imposed by FIFA and the CBF, the club is currently unable to register new players, leading to an internal focus on integrating talent between departments. The evaluation process aims to measure Maicon’s adaptation to the larger pitch dimensions, reaction times, and spatial reading required for field football.

Maicon has recorded significant statistics in futsal, including 53 goals and 21 assists in 119 matches. Futsal superintendent Lorenzo Fontana noted that while the athlete is still adjusting to the specific demands of the grass pitch, his technical qualities and decision-making in tight spaces are expected to transfer well.
