Corinthians president addresses salary delays following loss to Vasco

Corinthians president Osmar Stabile has denied reports of tension between the club's leadership and its players following a 3-2 defeat to Vasco in the Brasileirão. Despite three months of overdue image rights payments, Stabile stated that the athletes have not expressed dissatisfaction with the delays.

Stabile addressed the club's significant financial challenges, describing them as a 'cursed inheritance' from previous management. He noted that the club has had to spend R$ 200 million on taxes and resolving transfer bans. He also explained the departure of executive Marcelo Paz, citing personal data leaks and online threats as the primary reasons for his resignation.

The defeat at São Januário places Corinthians in 17th position in the league standings, moving the club into the relegation zone with only six matches remaining in the season.
