Corinthians president blocked André transfer to AC Milan
The transfer of Brazilian midfielder André from Corinthians to AC Milan collapsed at the final stage due to a decision by the Corinthians president, Osmar Stabile. According to André’s agent, Diogo Silva, the deal was nearly finalized with an agreement worth approximately €17 million to €18 million plus bonuses.
Silva revealed that while contracts were prepared and all parties had reached an understanding, the president chose not to sign the documents. This decision was reportedly made because the player was in excellent form during the Paulistão tournament, and the club believed holding onto him would increase his future market value. Silva later characterized this as a mistake in timing, noting that the sale could have provided Corinthians with necessary funds to manage salaries and strengthen the squad.
Before the deal fell through, André had reportedly been in contact with Milan figures including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Luka Modric. Currently, there are no active negotiations, but the agent intends to work toward a new valuation with Corinthians to prepare for a future transfer window.
