Corinthians records R$168 million deficit in first four months of 2026

Corinthians disclosed a cumulative deficit of R$168.048 million for January‑April 2026, far above the budgeted R$72.9 million. The shortfall stemmed mainly from the club’s decision not to sell players in the first transfer window, the R$32.5 million bonus paid for the 2025 Copa do Brasil title, and R$6.1 million in taxes related to the signing of defender Félix Torres.

Operating revenues reached R$273.159 million, exceeding the projected R$243.1 million, driven by sponsorships (R$91.2 million), broadcast rights (R$81.7 million) and matchday earnings (R$37.1 million). Expenses totaled R$272.2 million, dominated by personnel costs of R$198 million and general‑administrative costs of R$43.3 million. The club’s cash balance fell to R$14.5 million and net equity remained negative at R$942.8 million.

The board expects to generate roughly €25 million (about R$148 million) from player transfers in the mid‑season window to meet its financial targets and will conduct a budget revision at the halfway point of the fiscal year.
