Corinthians Secures R$22 Million Sponsorship Amid Cash‑Flow Crisis
Brazilian football club Corinthians has paid overdue salaries for its players, coaching staff and other employees, regularising May wages after weeks of delays. While the club settled most payroll obligations, image‑rights payments remain outstanding and it continues to grapple with severe cash‑flow problems and limited access to credit, compounded by ongoing investigations by public prosecutors. The club also resolved an international dispute with Argentine side Talleres to avoid a FIFA transfer ban.
In parallel, Corinthians signed a new sponsorship deal with digital‑content platform Fatal Fans. The agreement, worth R$22 million annually and potentially rising to R$31 million if extended through 2028, runs until December 2027. Fatal Fans’ branding will appear on the men’s football kit and on the club’s basketball and futsal uniforms, while the women’s teams will feature messages supporting gender‑related causes. The partnership is intended to provide financial relief and support the club’s various sports departments amid the ongoing fiscal strain.
