Corinthians signs multi‑million‑real sponsorship with adult‑content website

Brazilian football club Sport Club Corinthians Paulista has entered a sponsorship agreement with the adult‑content platform Fatal Fans. The contract will pay the club R$ 22 million through the end of 2027, with a possible extension to R$ 31 million if it runs until 2028. The deal has sparked criticism because the brand name will appear on the team’s jersey, exposing a broad audience that includes women and children to an adult‑oriented service.

The controversy echoes a July ruling by the Alagoas State Court that forced another Brazilian club, CSA, to remove similar advertising for an escort‑site network, citing violations of the Child and Adolescent Statute. Critics argue that, even without explicit images, the sponsorship contravenes the spirit of regulations that already bar alcohol advertising on football kits. The club, which boasts the country’s second‑largest fan base, faces calls for authorities to intervene and prevent the use of sport as a sales platform for adult content.
