Corinthians sponsorship deal under investigation by São Paulo Public Ministry
The São Paulo Public Ministry (MP-SP) has opened a civil inquiry to investigate a sponsorship agreement between the Corinthians football club and Fatal Fans, an adult content platform operated by FF Tecnologia Ltda. The investigation, prompted by a complaint from Councilor Keit Lima, seeks to determine if the partnership violates the rights of children and adolescents by exposing them to inappropriate content, sexualization, or the objectification of women.
Central to the inquiry is whether Fatal Fans employs secure age-verification mechanisms to prevent minors from accessing the site. The MP-SP has requested the full sponsorship contract, media plans, and digital forensics to analyze the platform's safety tools. Technical experts will also examine the club's social media channels to ensure compliance with protection rules. The National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) has been called upon to provide information regarding the platform's data handling and previous audits.
Senator Damares Alves has also publicly criticized the deal, which is valued at approximately R$ 22 million through 2027, calling for government action to protect minors from adult advertising on sports uniforms. The sponsorship involves the brand appearing on the shorts of the club's men's, futsal, and basketball teams.
