Corinthians suffers fifth consecutive Brasileirão defeat

Corinthians coach Fernando Diniz expressed frustration following the team's fifth consecutive defeat in the Brasileirão, a 2-1 loss to Flamengo at the Maracanã. Despite the result, Diniz noted a positive shift in the team's attitude and competitive spirit compared to previous losses.

Playing with a reserve lineup in the first half, Corinthians struggled against Flamengo before tactical changes allowed the starters to regain control. Lucas Paquetá opened the scoring for Flamengo in the second half, but Gui Negão managed to equalize for Corinthians. A late goal by Bruno Henrique secured the victory for Flamengo.

Corinthians currently sits in 13th place in the league standings with 32 points. The team will next face Estudiantes of Argentina in the second leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals at the Neo Química Arena.
