Corinthians faces coaching changes, fan protests, and security threats

Corinthians is facing significant internal and external instability following a period of poor results. The club recently appointed Clarence Seedorf as head coach to replace Fernando Diniz, with a contract running through 2027. Seedorf has already begun intensive two-shift training sessions, though the squad is dealing with several injuries to key players like Gabriel Paulista and Raniele.

On the administrative and fan front, the Gaviões da Fiel supporters group has formally requested the removal of football director Marcelo Paz and the technical sidelining of striker Memphis Depay. The club's leadership has expressed dissatisfaction with Depay, describing him as “apathetic” and disconnected from the club's current crisis. Depay has recorded only one goal in 23 matches this season.

Security concerns also escalated when hooded individuals launched fireworks at the Joaquim Grava Training Center. During this incident, one individual reportedly brandished a firearm and threatened a TV Globo news crew, demanding they turn off their cameras. The club has condemned the violence and is cooperating with police investigations.
