Flamengo gears up for Portugal intertemporal training and friendlies
Flamengo confirmed a 26‑player squad for an intertemporal camp in Portugal, scheduled to begin on 28 June 2026. The roster includes the return of loaned midfielders Lorran and Rayan Lucas, who will be evaluated alongside other young prospects during the training period.
Ahead of departure, the first‑team played a 1‑0 friendly win over Bonsucesso at the Ninho do Urubu, with Bruno Henrique scoring from the penalty spot. The match allowed coach Leonardo Jardim to assess the squad, especially players absent on FIFA World Cup duty.
During the Portuguese stint, Flamengo will compete in the Algarve Tournament, facing River Plate (Argentina) on 3 July, Lausanne‑Sport (Switzerland) on 8 July, and Benfica (Portugal) on 11 July. The club also noted it will receive FIFA compensation of US$5,000 per day for each player called up to the World Cup, amounting to roughly US$765,000 for the tournament’s group‑stage phase.
