Corneliu Dudnic and Alexandr Stoianoglo file to run for Gagauzia Governor

Corneliu Dudnic and Alexandr Stoianoglo have initiated procedures to run for the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia in the upcoming elections scheduled for November 15, 2026.

Both candidates intend to run independently. They have submitted the necessary documentation to the Gagauzia Central Electoral Commission to register their initiative groups. For Corneliu Dudnic, the initiative group has already been registered, and subscription lists have been issued to begin collecting voter signatures. Alexandr Stoianoglo submitted his application and required documents for the registration of his initiative group on September 23.

The deadline for submitting documents for candidate registration is October 6, 2026. The gubernatorial election will take place on the same day as the elections for the People's Assembly of Gagauzia.
