Cornișa Agrement Complex pool reopens after water quality clearance
The outdoor Olympic pool at the Cornișa Agrement Complex in Dorohoi has been cleared to reopen following successful water quality testing. The Botoșani Public Health Directorate (DSP) confirmed that recent analyses show the water meets all sanitary standards, with zero counts for E. coli, enterococci, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
The closure was initiated on August 21 after initial tests revealed microbiological non-compliance, including the presence of coliform bacteria and intestinal enterococci, which posed a potential health risk to users. The issue was brought to light following a citizen complaint to the Botoșani Prefecture.
In response to the findings, the complex underwent sanitization procedures. Following the remediation, health inspectors collected new samples to verify the effectiveness of the cleaning. Botoșani Prefect Raluca Curelariu stated that the rapid action helped prevent potential illnesses. The Prefecture has also requested the Botoșani City Hall to conduct an internal investigation to determine how the initial water quality non-conformities occurred.
