Cornu Bakery Project Advances in Edmundston, New Brunswick

Construction is underway on the new Cornu bakery in the Edmundston‑Nord industrial park, New Brunswick. A press conference is scheduled for mid‑September with owner Marc‑André Cornu to detail the Swiss‑origin company's North‑American expansion. The project, announced in November 2025, is backed by Opportunités NB and the City of Edmundston. Cornu cited reliable electricity supply, proximity to the Trans‑Canada Highway and a sufficient local population as key factors. The investment is estimated at CAD 35‑40 million and the facility is expected to create 30‑35 jobs initially. The plant will produce the company's signature product, the Twist – a twisted puff pastry – and will support distribution to the company's markets in 70 countries.
