Cornwall Council apologizes for traffic disruption in Bugle

Cornwall Council has issued an apology to residents and businesses in Bugle following significant traffic disruption caused by the Mid Cornwall Metro active travel scheme. The issues stemmed from temporary four-way traffic lights installed by Cormac during the first phase of works.

In response to community feedback, the temporary signal system has been removed and permanent traffic lights and pedestrian crossings have been reinstated to improve traffic flow. To minimize daytime interference, remaining works in this phase will primarily be conducted during evenings and nights.

In a related development, Councillor Steve Trevelyan is organizing a protest at the Singlerose Roundabout on the A391 link road for Saturday, October 3. The demonstration aims to encourage drivers to use the link road rather than cutting through smaller village streets.
