Cornwall Council appoints Andy Keeling as interim deputy chief executive

Cornwall Council has appointed Andy Keeling as the new interim deputy chief executive. Keeling is scheduled to begin his role on Monday, September 14. He brings extensive local government experience, having previously served as the chief executive of the Falkland Islands Government and as the head of paid service at Leicester City Council.

Council leader Cllr Leigh Frost stated that Keeling’s experience in senior positions will provide “valuable leadership at an important time for the Council.”

Ms Kennally has served as the CEO of Cornwall Council since January 2016, overseeing three different political administrations. According to the TaxPayers’ Alliance Town Hall Rich List 2026, she is the highest earner at the council, with total compensation reaching £239,479 including pension and expenses.
