Cornwall Council increases security at Langarth site following vandalism

Cornwall Council has increased security measures at derelict properties near Truro following reports of vandalism and trespassing. The properties, located along the Northern Access Road near the future Langarth Garden Village site, were reportedly left vulnerable after previous security measures were removed.

Local residents expressed concerns that teenagers and homeless individuals were breaking into the buildings, smashing doors and accessing areas containing gas cylinders. In response to these reports, Councillor Dulcie Tudor stated that the derelict properties would be fenced off securely to prevent squatting and potential accidents.

In addition to security concerns, residents have complained about overflowing waste bins along the new Northern Access Road. Councillor Tudor has advocated for a formal emptying system rather than the removal of the bins.
