Cornwall rail services halted after person struck by train

Rail services in and out of Cornwall were halted on Saturday, September 12, after a person was struck by a train on the line between Plymouth and Penzance.

Great Western Railway (GWR) reported that all lines were blocked to allow emergency services to attend the scene. The incident caused significant disruption, with passengers facing delays of up to 90 minutes, cancellations, or revised journeys.

Investigations by emergency services and Network Rail were concluded by approximately 6pm, at which point the line was reopened to traffic.
