Coro Avanti to perform at University of Patras

The Coro Avanti mixed choir, part of the historic Orpheus Music Club of Patras, will perform at the University of Patras as part of the ‘Welcome to UP 2026’ event. The concert is scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026, at 20:30 on the university campus.

The Orpheus Music Club has deep historical roots in Patras, dating back to 1876, and was officially founded in 1923. Coro Avanti was established in November 2019 under the direction of conductor Lina Geronikou. The ensemble aims to perform works by both classical and contemporary composers while preserving the musical heritage found in the Orpheus archives.

Coro Avanti has previously participated in various festivals and competitions, including the 2nd Tasos Pappas International Choral Competition, where it received second prize in the mixed choir category and the Best Choir award.
