Coronation Street addresses Jack P Shepherd’s hair transplant

In the ITV soap Coronation Street, the character David Platt has returned to Weatherfield with a new buzzed hairstyle. The show addressed the change through dialogue, with David jokingly claiming he had lice before admitting he simply wanted a change of style.

The onscreen transformation reflects a real-life change for actor Jack P Shepherd. Shepherd utilized his recent paternity leave, following the birth of his daughter Constance, to undergo a hair transplant procedure. He previously noted that he decided to act on the procedure while he had time off.
