Coronation Street: Sally and Tim Metcalfe foster daughter of murder suspect

In the British soap opera Coronation Street, Sally and Tim Metcalfe have taken in Lucy, the teenage daughter of Tim’s cousin Richie Parkinson. Richie was recently charged with the murder of his wife, Rachel, after Tim discovered her body in their kitchen.

Following the collapse of Lucy’s original foster placement, Tim decided to welcome her into their home despite Sally’s initial reservations regarding their ability to manage additional parenting responsibilities. The transition has been difficult; Lucy briefly ran away but was located at a bus stop. Tensions have risen as Lucy expressed a desire to visit her father in prison, a request that Sally and Tim have had to deny.
