Coronation Street sees Claire Sweeney depart and speculation over Aadi Alahan's possible death

Actress Claire Sweeney confirmed her exit from ITV's Coronation Street, saying she will leave the long‑running soap to play Miss Hannigan in the touring production of Annie. Sweeney’s character, Cassie Plummer, has been central to recent storylines involving family drama and a new character, Ross Wilkes, whose arrival sparked a confrontation that revealed Cassie's past abuse.

Meanwhile, fans of the show are worrying that long‑standing character Aadi Alahan may be killed off. Viewers noted his rushed departure in 2022 and, after a year of little mention, speculated on Reddit that the writers could eliminate him off‑screen, potentially affecting his on‑screen father Dev Alahan’s storyline.
