Coronel Pringles authorities link food poisoning to hygiene failures

Health authorities in Coronel Pringles have confirmed that a mass food poisoning incident involving dozens of residents was caused by poor hygiene rather than contaminated raw ingredients. The incident occurred in late July following a charity event intended to raise funds for a medical treatment.

Laboratory analysis conducted by the Department of Bromatology in Bahía Blanca on samples of chicken and chorizo found no presence of dangerous bacteria, such as Salmonella, Listeria, or Staphylococcus. The meat samples were found to comply with the Argentine Food Code.

Clinical diagnoses for the affected patients, including 31 individuals who received medical attention and one who was hospitalized, tested positive for Rotavirus and Adenovirus types 40 and 41. Based on these findings, officials concluded that the outbreak resulted from inadequate hygiene during the preparation or serving of the food.
