Corporación Masaveu acquires Unicaja’s stake in Oppidum Capital

Corporación Masaveu, through its subsidiary Masaveu Internacional, has reached an agreement with Unicaja Banco to acquire 100% of Oppidum Capital. This move increases Masaveu’s indirect stake in the Portuguese energy multinational EDP to approximately 5%.

As part of the transaction, Unicaja Banco will exit Oppidum Capital entirely, receiving a combination of cash and EDP shares as compensation. This exit leaves Unicaja with a direct 1.8% stake in EDP’s capital. Oppidum Capital, which previously held a 6.82% stake in EDP, was formerly owned by Masaveu Internacional (55.87%) and Unicaja Banco (44.13%).

Separately, Unicaja Banco has announced an interim dividend of 0.08 euros per share, representing a 2.2% yield. This payout, scheduled for September 24, corresponds to 60% of the bank's net profit from the first half of the year, which totaled 361 million euros.
