Corporación Topitop accused of anti-union practices in Peru

The National Federation of Textile and Related Workers of Peru (FNTTP) has denounced anti-union practices at Corporación Topitop. The federation, led by Secretary General Abel Montoya, claims the company has engaged in long-standing efforts to undermine labor rights, freedom of association, and collective bargaining.

According to the FNTTP, the conflict involves the company's legal challenges against the union's designation. While the Ministry of Labor issued a resolution recognizing the organization as a national union, Topitop has contested this decision in court. Montoya argued that the company's judicial challenges are unconstitutional, asserting that workers, not employers, should decide their own organizational structure.
