Corporations shift from banning AI to implementing usage policies

Organizations are increasingly shifting from prohibiting artificial intelligence to implementing formal usage policies. According to the ESET Security Report, 39.7% of companies now promote AI use under internal frameworks, while 39.2% leave usage decisions to individual employees without defined policies. Only 3.4% of organizations maintain a total ban on these tools.

As companies move toward governance, technology providers have introduced enterprise versions of AI assistants—such as ChatGPT Business and Enterprise, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Gemini for Google Workspace—to provide better security, privacy, and compliance for corporate data. Between 2024 and 2025, corporate focus has shifted toward data classification, employee training, and integrating AI assistants into business processes.
