Corpus Delicti film adaptation arrives in cinemas October 2026

The dystopian novel “Corpus Delicti” by Juli Zeh is being adapted into a feature film directed by Lena Stahl, scheduled for release on October 1, 2026. The story is set in a near-future society governed by “The Method,” a system that guarantees health and security through total surveillance and strict hygiene protocols, such as subcutaneous chips that monitor biological data.

The plot follows Mia Holl (Hannah Herzsprung), a scientist who initially supports the system, until her brother Moritz (Damian Hardung) is accused of murder. As Mia attempts to prove his innocence, she becomes a target of the very system she once trusted.

The production features a prominent cast including Christian Friedel, Alexander Fehling, and Haley Louise Jones. The film’s visual design includes brutalist architecture and was supported by Oscar-winning production designer Christian M. Goldbeck and composer Volker Bertelmann.
