Corrado Perugini appointed President of Italy's Monti Sibillini National Park

Engineer Corrado Perugini has been confirmed as President of the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini by a decree from the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security. The decree, dated 6 August, finalises a process that began in January when Perugini was named extraordinary commissioner of the park.

Perugini thanked Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and the regional presidents of Marche (Francesco Acquaroli) and Umbria (Stefania Proietti). He reiterated his commitment to a constant dialogue with local mayors, to treat the park as a development opportunity, to protect biodiversity, and to promote the natural, cultural and tourism heritage. He also highlighted the role of park guides as ambassadors and the need to balance conservation with sustainable economic growth for businesses, research, youth and local communities.
