Correcaminos and Tapatío face elimination in Liga de Expansión MX

Correcaminos has been officially eliminated from the Apertura 2026 Liga de Expansión MX playoffs following a 2-0 defeat against Coyotes de Tlaxcala at Estadio Tlahuicole. Despite controlling much of the midfield in the first half, the team led by Gabriel “Místico” Pereyra lacked offensive depth. Erick Robles scored for Coyotes in the 42nd minute and added a second via a penalty in the second half, leaving Correcaminos in 12th place with 16 points.

Meanwhile, Tapatío is on the verge of elimination after a 2-1 loss to Atlético Morelia. The team, managed by Pepe Meléndez, requires a significant result to secure a spot in the Liguilla. Analysts have noted that despite a relatively healthy squad with few player departures to the first team, excessive rotations and tactical decisions have contributed to the team's struggle to remain competitive in the tournament.
