Correcaminos beats Leones Negros 3-1, tops Liga Expansión MX

Correcaminos de la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas defeated Leones Negros of the Universidad de Guadalajara 3‑1 in the third round of the Apertura 2026 season of Liga Expansión MX. The match, played at Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara, saw Leones Negros open the scoring from a corner in the 14th minute, but Correcaminos equalised through Juan Cantú at 18 minutes and took the lead a minute later with a strike by Wiliam Guzmán. A late cross from Yael Uribe was headed in to make it 3‑1.

The victory gave Correcaminos seven points from two wins and a draw, moving them to the top of the league table. Coached by Gabriel Pereyra, the team will host Tapatío on Friday 14 August at the Marte R. Gómez stadium as they aim to extend their unbeaten run.
