Correcaminos UAT wraps pre-season with draw against Mexico U‑23

Correcaminos de la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) concluded its pre‑season at Estadio Marte R. Gómez in Ciudad Victoria with a 2‑2 draw against the Mexico U‑23 national team. The match opened with a goal by Wily Guzmán in the third minute, followed by a second for Correcaminos from Damián Torres before halftime. In the second half, Mexico equalised through Mateo Levy at the 55th minute and Eder López at the 61st minute.

The game served as the final preparation ahead of Correcaminos' debut in the Apertura 2026 of the Liga de Expansión MX, scheduled for the following Friday against Mineros de Zacatecas. It also provided a competitive test for the Mexico U‑23 side as it prepares for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo later that year. Defender Alan Ruiz made his debut for the university team during the fixture.
