Corregidora hosts Otomí cultural workshop for traditional Lelé dolls

The municipality of Corregidora hosted a workshop dedicated to the creation of the traditional ‘Muñeca Lelé’ at the Museo Anbanica de Historia (MUSAH). Organized by the Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the Secretariat of Culture and Traditions, the event aimed to preserve and promote the Otomí culture and the indigenous roots of Querétaro.

Led by artisan Carolina Miranda, participants of various ages learned about the history and cultural significance of the dolls, which originate from the municipality of Amealco de Bonfil. The workshop provided hands-on experience in traditional embroidery and sewing techniques, allowing attendees to craft their own dolls step-by-step.

The Secretariat of Culture and Traditions stated that these experiential spaces are intended to foster cultural awareness, identity, and respect for the state's traditional artistic expressions.
